香川県出身。武蔵野音楽大学在学中、シエナウインドオーケストラを経て、22歳で広島交響楽団に入団。NHK-FM洋楽オーディション合格。NHK-FMリサイタル出演。クラリネットを山崎盾之、石川孝司、藤井一男、山本正治の各師に師事。
1995年よりロータリー財団奨学生としてドイツ国立リューベック音楽大学に留学、クラリネットをザビーネ・マイヤー教授に室内楽、オーケストラスタディをライナー・ヴェーレ教授に師事。同大学院を最高点で卒業。1997年帰国し楽団に復帰。以後、NHK交響楽団等、日本全国の主要オーケストラに首席客演奏者として出演。ソリストとしては1992年〜2016年に渡り度々広島交響楽団とモーツァルトやウェーバーの協奏曲等を共演。2017年中部フィル定期演奏会にてウェーバーの協奏曲を共演。
第30回広島県民文化奨励賞受賞。
海外のクラリネット奏者との交流もあり、ザビーネ・マイヤー、マイケル・コリンズ、リチャード・ストルツマン、アレッサンドロ・カルボナーレ、フィリップ・ベロー、ライナー・ヴェーレ、セバスチャン・マンツ、ジュリアン・ブリス、コラド・ジェフレディ、ヤン・ヤコブ・ボクンの各氏と共演。
主宰する広島クラリネットアンサンブルより「タナトス」「チャールダシュ」「暁の変容」の3CDを㈱ブレーンより、名古屋クラリネットアンサンブルよりアンサンブルコレクションをteeda出版より邦人の作品を数多く録音。テレビ新広島「ひろしま百景」の音楽プロデュースし延べ900曲の録音、またスタジオ録音、テレビCM等の録音を手掛ける。
日本クラリネット協会コンクール、KOBE国際コンクール、日本管打楽器コンクール、日本木管コンクール審査員を歴任。全国各地でのマスタークラス、クリニック、全日本吹奏楽コンクールやアンサンブルコンテスト等の審査など幅広く活動。2007年韓国、2017年中国、2019年台湾、2024年香港にてマスタークラスと演奏会を行う。
バンドジャーナル、ザ・クラリネット、パイパース等の音楽誌に数多く執筆。
現在、名古屋音楽大学教授、エリザベト音楽大学、明和高校音楽科非常勤講師、ヤマハオフィシャルクラリネットアーティスト、日本クラリネット協会理事、名古屋アカデミックウインズコンサートマスター、広島クラリネットアンサンブル主宰、OctBass代表、なにわ≪オーケストラル≫ウィンズ、名阪クラリネットカルテット、CrazyClassixメンバー
Shinsuke Hashimoto
Born in Kagawa Prefecture. While studying at the Musashino Academia Musicae, Mr. Hashimoto joined the Siena Wind Orchestra, and at the age of 22, he joined the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra. He passed the NHK-FM Classical Music Audition and appeared in an NHK-FM recital. He studied clarinet under Yamazaki Tateyuki.Fujii Kazuo, and Yamamoto Masaharu.
From 1995, he studied at Musikhochschule luebeck in Germany as a Rotary Foundation Scholar, studying clarinet under Professor Sabine Meyer, and chamber music and orchestral studies under Professor Reiner Wehle. He received master degree with the highest marks. In 1997., Mr. Hashimoto rejoined the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra. Since then, he has appeared as a principal guest performer with major orchestras throughout Japan, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, he has performed Mozart and Weber concertos with the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions between 1992 and 2016. In 2017, he performed Weber's concerto with the Chubu Philharmonic Orchestra at a regular concert.
He was awarded the 30th Hiroshima Cultural Encouragement Prize.
He has also performed with clarinetists grobally, including Sabine Meyer, Michael Collins, Richard Stoltzman, Alessandro Carbonare, Philippe Berrod, Reiner Wehle , Sebastian Manz, Julien Briss, Corrado Giuffredi, and Jan Jakob Bokun.
He has recorded many Japanese works with the Hiroshima Clarinet Ensemble, which he leads, and the Nagoya Clarinet Ensemble, including the three CDs “Thanatos”, “Csardas” and “Transfiguration of Dawn” released by Brain Co. and the Ensemble Collection released by Teeda Publishing. He has produced the music for the TV program “Hiroshima Hyakkei” (100 Views of Hiroshima), and has recorded a total of 900 songs, as well as studio recordings and TV commercials.
Mr. Hashimoto has served as a judge for the Japan Clarinet Association Competition, the Kobe International Competition, the Japan Wind and Percussion Competition, and the Japan Woodwind Competition. He is active in a wide range of activities, including master classes and clinics throughout Japan, and judging at events such as the All Japan Band Competition and Ensemble Competition. He held a master class in Daejeon, South Korea in 2007 and hade a master class in China in 2017.
His article has been featured by a number of music magazines, including Band Journal, The Clarinet, and Pipers.
Currently Mr. Hashimoto is teaching at at Nagoya College of Music as professor, and a part-time lecturer at Elisabeth University of Music and Meiwa High School music department. He is also active as Yamaha clarinet artist, a board member of the Japan Clarinet Association, the concertmaster of the Nagoya Academic Winds, the leader of the Hiroshima Clarinet Ensemble, the representative of OctBass, a member of the Naniwa Orchestral Winds, the Meihan Clarinet Quartet, and Crazy Classix.
